100% Pure Skincare Products. Do They Exist? Why Would You Want Them?

Peter Clark asked:

Many people are now becoming aware that many modern skincare and anti aging products contain potentially harmful ingredients. For this reason many seek to learn more about 100% pure skincare or holistic skincare.

Whether you call it 100% pure skincare or holistic skincare or natural skincare or organic skincare, what people are looking for is skincare products that don’t contain harmful ingredients.

If it’s news to you that many mainstream skincare products and antiaging products and cosmetics contain potentially harmful ingredients then here’s a couple of examples to demonstrate why so many people are now looking for 100% pure skincare products.

A recent study, for example, has found lead in many of the big brand lipsticks that so many of us use. Other studies have found chemicals called Phthalates in many of our skincare and anti aging products and cosmetics. Phthalates have linked to birth defects.

Why is this so? Because the FDA doesn’t regulate or test anti aging products and skincare products for safety, (or for how well they work), and so many companies use ingredients in their products that are suspect or even dangerous, and sometimes are also damaging to your skin.

And there’s many more examples than these 2, so many in fact that there is now a consumer organization set up dedicated to exposing dangerous ingredients in skincare products and cosmetics in an attempt to clean up the industry.

So you can see why so many people are looking for safe skincare products and so seek to buy 100% pure skincare products, or what some call holistic skincare products.

Most of the big brand name cosmetics and skincare products are suspect, and many do very little either. However for those seeking 100% pure, safe skincare products there is good news. There are excellent companies dedicated to developing high quality, safe, effective and pure skincare products, and safe, effective and pure cosmetics.

Let me give you some examples. There is a small niche company that makes what I consider to be the best skincare products available that use all safe and 100% natural skincare products. They use ingredients that are naturally occurring and extracted in a safe, and effective manner.

For example one of the best ingredients you can find in your skincare products is Phytessence Wakame. This is a seaweed found around the coast of Japan that is regularly eaten by the Japanese, who have some of the best skin in the world. Scientists have now discovered that the skin health of Japanese women is no accident. That it can be put down in large part to the inclusion in their diet of this seaweed called Phytessence Wakame.

There is a wide range of active ingredients in Phytessence wakame that help maintain skin health, suppleness and youthfullness. And so anyone who eats Phytessence Wakame will exhibit charactertistics of good skin health.

This small niche company now uses Phytessence Wakame in their 100% pure skincare products, and it is now an essential ingredient in just about all of their skincare range. It’s naturally occurring, safe, and extremely effective.

Scientific studies have shown many similar 100% pure naturally occurring ingredients that can be used in skincare products to avoid the necessity of using chemicals and other suspect or dangerous ingredients.

However the big brand name companies don’t generally use them because they are often much more expensive than the chemical ingredients they use now, so cut into profits.

This small niche company however doesn’t advertise on TV and has a limited marketing budget, so costs are way lower, and they direct their funds into research and development of high quality 100% pure skincare products that work extremely well. Holistic skincare products that put the big brands to shame, both on qualit and price.

But because they don’t advertise on TV chances are you’ve never heard of them. Or another company that comes to mind that makes superb 100% pure cosmetics that are very high quality. Holistic cosmetics that are safe to use, unlike many.

So if you’re looking to find some high quality 100% pure skincare products or holistic cosmetics that are safe and effective you can find them, they do exist. They work well, are safe to use, and cost competitive.

But you won’t buy them from the big brand name skincare companies or cosmetics companies.

Is "100% Holistic Skincare" Just a Big Con?

Peter Clark asked:

I’m sure you’ve seen the claims. “100% holistic skincare”, or perhaps “100% pure skincare”. Are these claims a big con or is there something worthwhile behind them?

In my view there’s some powerful reasons for todays woman to use pure and holistic skincare. One of the best reasons is that the skincare and cosmetics industry has no requirement to submit their products to a regulatory or goverment body to show that the ingredients are safe. And so there are many suspect ingredients in modern skincare products. Pure skincare products are safe, and effective.

However whether you’re looking for pure skincare products, or holistic skincare products or cosmetics that are made from totally natural ingredients, you need to understand a couple of things.

Firstly, what does “natural” or “holistic” or “pure” really mean? It isn’t possible to use 100% natural ingredients in any skin care product, and in fact that shouldn’t be the goal of any cosmetics and skincare product manufacturer.

Any ingredient that is natural should be naturally occurring, for example is derived from plants. However it isn’t possible to actually use that ingredient in a skincare product unless it is processed in some way, because it needs to be taken out of the plant in which it is found and put into a form that is useable in the product, and that requires some form of processing.

However just because it has to undergo a form of processing to extract it from a plant does not imply that it is no longer effective or safe. And it also doesn’t disqualify it from being “natural” or “holistic” or “pure”. It just means that it has to be processed.

So there isn’t, in effect, a 100% pure skincare product, or 100% holistic skincare product available.

Is this an argument to justify buying any old skincare product? Absolutely not. There are some quite nasty ingredients in many of the mainstream big brand name skincare and cosmetics products on our shelves. The companies that manufacture these are not required to prove their safety before they are used in cosmetics, and many should be avoided. Parabens, Dioxane and Diethanolamine are just 3 ingredients found in various skincare and cosmetics products that are considered to be less than safe. And in some cases are suspected of causing cancer. Or skin irritation, for example.

So although there is no 100% pure skincare product on the market, there are excellent natural skincare products available. Yes they use ingredients extracted from plants by a form of extraction process, but these ingredients are tested and proven safe and, particularly, effective skincare ingredients. Something that cannot be said about many mainstream skincare products and cosmetics that so many people regularly use.

Here’s a few ingredients that are fairly considered to be natural or pure ingredients and can be found in the best “holistic” skincare products, or “pure” skincare products.

Phytessence Wakame. Extracted from a seaweed native to Japan. This seaweed is a form of kelp and is commonly found in the Japanese diet, one of the reasons the Japanese seem to have such good skin right into older age.

Cynergy TK which is a substance which is extracted from the wool of sheep, and which plays an important role in overall skin health. Cynergy TK has been shown to actually stimulate the production of collagen and elastin in our skin.

Collagen and elastin are 2 of the most important substances found in healthy skin. They are both proteins and are both involved in maintaining elasticity and firmness of skin, both responsible for producing great looking, younger looking skin. As we age our bodies produce less collagen and elastin than our skin needs to remain supple, and so any skincare product which promotes the production of collagen and elastic will work extremely well as an effective skincare product.

So in conclusion. Is the claim of 100% holistic skincare, or 100% pure skincare a con? No, not at all. There are both powerful reasons not to buy mainstream regular skincare products which you will routinely see on the shelves now, and there are also powerful reasons to buy pure skincare, or holistic skincare products. Yes they have some “processed” ingredients, but this does not detract from the fact that they are derived from safe, and effective, natural ingredients. And they work extremely well.

And whilst the companies that make the mainstream products are household names, the company that makes skincare products with such ingredients as Phytessence Wakame and Cynergy TK is not a household name at all. You’ve probably never heard of it. But you need to.

The Best Way for Skincare Solution – Reading Skincare Reviews

February 2, 2009 by editor

Rachel Chin asked:

I believe that first-hand experiences of real people are the greatest complementary to skincare reviews. It will lead you to the discovery of the Best Skin Care Products which point directly to your anti aging skincare needs. As we know, not all individuals are having the same type of skin, some could be oily, dry, sensitive or even allergy skin. Finding the right skincare products to treat your skincare problem is a try and error kind of hard work. Some are lucky to get the right skincare treatment the first time they try it, some might not.

The right thing to do before you begin your quest of searching for the best skincare treatment, you must understand what is the actual condition of your skin. The best person to consult is always the beautician or even doctors who are Skin Specialist. Inevitably, the beautician will give you free examination or test provided that you will need to sign up for a skincare treatment package which is going to cost you a bomb. The Skin Specialist will charge you an expensive professional consultation fee. On top of that, the skin doctor will say you need this special clinical skincare treatment, and the total cost might even take away your saving.

I am not asking those with serious skin problems to shunt away the beauticians nor the skin doctor. You will need to go seek proper treatment should the skin problems is affecting your life badly. Anyway, getting to know the skincare reviews will be of great help for you to receive the right skincare treatments. For those who are looking for mild skincare remedies, or concern about the anti aging skincare practices, reading the skincare reviews will give you the in depth understanding of the best skincare products.

You don’t need to try out every single skincare product in the market in order to find the best skincare brand. The best way to do this is to read those skincare reviews by independent individuals, you can get this from magazines, newsletter from some skincare or health organization, local newspapers, and other printed media. In my opinion, the best skincare reviews will be from internet media, where most individuals are of genuine and independent personal experience. Unlike printed media, some authors or publishers are being paid to write on behalf of the skincare business owner.

Some good skincare reviews are presented in forum format which viewers are allowed to response and comment on that reviews. In this way, you simply post your doubts and questions and either the author or the viewer will response to that. If the skincare reviews is being run by professional like health researchers or doctors, you are most likely to get most of your question answered. These is of great help and cut short your search time for the best skincare brands specifically to your skincare problems.

In return, if you can share your skincare comments, skincare recommendation, and your own skincare reviews, you will not only improve your skincare awareness, but also helping others with skincare treatments problem. The contribution you make, will benefit the skincare industry as well as the peoples who are constantly looking for the best skincare brand.
